Agnes Di Leonardi is General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of Mazda Canada Inc. with overall responsibility for legal compliance, corporate governance and government relations matters and a member of the Executive Team. A corporate-commercial lawyer, her 25 year career has been in both private practice (with a large Bay Street firm) and as an in-house corporate counsel. Prior to joining Mazda Canada Inc., she was with Ford Motor Company of Canada, Limited where she held several executive positions including Vice President Legal, Ford Credit Canada Limited and Vice President Law, Premier Automotive Group (Aston Martin, Jaguar Land Rover Canada and Volvo Canada). Agnes has a reputation for adding value to the business and for taking initiative.
Agnes is an alumna of the 1998 Canadian Duke of Edinburgh Study Conference.
She graduated in 1982 from York University with an Honours Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A) degree and from University of Windsor Law School in 1986 with a Bachelor of Laws degree. Agnes was called to the Ontario Bar in 1988 and the New York Bar in 1990.
Agnes is very active in community and global organizations. She is a member of the International Women’s Forum and Global Leaders in Law. Agnes is a past director and Corporate Secretary of the YWCA of Greater Toronto and co-chaired the YWCA’s annual Woman of Distinction Awards dinner. She is a past director of the Women’s College Hospital Foundation, and past member of the Governing Council of Sunnybrook Hospital Foundation.
Agnes currently serves as a board director of Global Automakers of Canada (GAC) and is a member of the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association of Canada (JAMA) where she is active on many automotive industry related issues. She has also participated in the Canadian Vehicle Manufacturers Association (CVMA).
Agnes was a recipient of the 1996 Toronto Sun’s Women on the Move Awards, the 1988 FLARE Volunteer Award and the 2001 YWCA Women of Distinction Award in recognition of her professional and community achievements.
