A SPECIAL THANKS FROM THE PRESIDENT

HRH The Princess Royal, Princess Anne

I am very pleased to once again preside over the Caribbean-Canada Emerging Leaders’ Dialogue. The 2015 programme is part of a continuing tradition of excellence established at the inception of the Commonwealth Study Conference in 1956 by HRH The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.

In an interconnected and fast-changing world true leadership requires broad thinking and collaborative skills. CCELD provides opportunities for aspiring leaders to work with diverse groups of people, communities, businesses and economic sectors in diverse countries and regions. Through this in-field approach they gain new skill sets and improve their confidence to lead.

Having attended a number of Dialogues, including the successful 2011 CCELD, one thing is clear: the formula that brought people together over 50 years ago has stood the test of time. This Dialogue will offer participants a unique learning opportunity that will challenge their assumptions and expand their global perspective, while encouraging collaboration and an appreciation of differing points of view. I am confident it will create a cohort of alumni ready to lead their organisations, their communities and their countries into a bright future.
